過去のCAADRIA国際会議の日本開催年は1998 (大阪大)、2006 (熊本大＝集合写真)、2014 (京都工繊大)。このペースでいけば、次回の日本開催は東京オリンピック(2020)よりも先になるのか～というか、東京オリンピックはすぐやってくるのですね。

Theme: Rethinking Comprehensive Design: Speculative Counterculture
The registration for CAADRIA2014 conference to be held in Kyoto Japan will close on 28 April 2014 5pm (JST). You may register for the conference at http://www.caadria2014.org/registration.html
The Department of Design, Engineering & Management, Kyoto Institute of Technology will be hosting the 19th International CAADRIA (Association for Computer-Aided Architectural Design Research in Asia) conference from 12 to 17 May 2014, to be held at Kyoto Institute of Technology. It will be attended by international academics, researchers, students and practitioners. The theme is Rethinking Comprehensive Design: Speculative Counterculture and our keynote speakers include Prof. Paul Richens, University of Bath; Mr. Joichi “Joi” Ito, Director of the MIT Media Lab; Prof. Hitoshi Abe, Chair of UCLA & Architect.
The conference programme will start on 12 May with seven parallel hands-on workshops on cutting edge technology and innovation followed by paper presentations and poster sessions from 14 to 16 May. 298 abstracts were received from all over the world. 89 full-papers and 34 short papers for the poster session were selected.

About CAADRIA
The Association for Computer-Aided Architectural Design Research in Asia (CAADRIA) promotes teaching and research in CAAD in Asia, and has members on six continents. It organizes an annual conference, the first of which was held in 1996 in Hong Kong. Since then conferences have been held in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and India. The conferences provide an opportunity for teachers, students, researchers, and practitioners to meet each other and learn about the latest research and practices in the field. The proceedings of the conferences are available both on line and in research libraries around the world.
