Dear Colleagues

The Department of Architecture, School of Design and Environment, National University of Singapore will be hosting the 18th International CAADRIA (Association for Computer-Aided Architectural Design Research in Asia) conference from 14 to 18 May 2013, to be held at the National University of Singapore. It will be attended by international academics, researchers, students and practitioners. The theme is Open Systems and our keynote speakers include Professor Charles Eastman, renowned researcher and BIM pioneer, Mr. Tomohiko Yamanashi (山梨知彦) , eminent Japanese architect and the designers of Gardens by the Bay. By focusing on the theme of Open Systems, CAADRIA 2013 aims to explore and raise awareness to the need of overstepping disciplinary boundaries and reaching creative communities at all levels of expertise, by pooling resources, knowledge and practices, and integrating them through the adoption of open systems.

The conference programme will start on 14 May with five parallel hands-on workshops on cutting edge technology and innovation followed by paper presentations and presentations of practice work from 15 to 17 May. 259 abstracts were received and 112 papers and presentations were selected.
